TDHS Seniors Graduate Saturday, June 4, inspire younger students

The Dalles High School Seniors class of 2022 held their rehearsal walk this morning, June 3, for graduation for Saturday, June 4th. The ceremony begins at 10:30 a.m.

Seniors returned to their elementary schools this morning for the Hawk Walk. This group is walking the halls of Dry Hollow to the cheers of the younger students who hope to follow in their footsteps.

The Dalles High School graduating seniors returned to their former grade schools this morning, June 3, to do the walk of fame as school children cheered their accomplishments.

It is all part of the activities as they prepare for their final TDHS function, graduation on June 4 at 10:30 a.m. at Amaton Field behind the high school, 220 E. 10th Street.

The Commencement Speaker is Ajay Rundell, Principal at Chenowith Elementary, and Valedictorian speeches will be given by Clarence Farrar, Megan Lenardson, Frederick Osborne, Zora Richardson and Zane Strassheim.

“For the Hawk Walk, students dress in their cap and gown and get to go visit the elementary school that they attended,” said District 21 Spokesperson Stephanie Bowen. “Students who didn't attend one of our district elementary schools can choose to go with a friend.”

Graduation practice followed at 10:30 a.m. this morning, with a walk-through with cap and gown on Amaton Field. Seniors are then going to be treated to a BBQ at Sorosis Park, Bowen said.
